WEEKLY MEETUP: 1 MILLION CUPS

1 Million Cups is a free, national program designed to educate, engage and connect entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs have the opportunity to present their startups to a diverse audience of mentors, advisors, and entrepreneurs. Presenters prepare a 6 minute educational presentation followed by 20 minutes of audience feedback.

LEADING EDGE FOR ENTREPRENEURS

LEADING EDGE™ for Entrepreneurs is a 10-week course designed to teach you how to build or restructure your business to be successful based on an actionable business plan. The course is designed to give you a practical concept that you can apply to your current business or concept for years to come. By the end of the course, you will understand the aspects of running a business and having a sound financial vision, and create a written business plan or strategy.

WEST SLOPE STARTUP WEEK

West Slope Startup Week is back with a new, virtual format.

The goals are the same - learn from each other, share expertise and experience, celebrate our businesses, tell our stories, and build connections across the region. Starting July 7th, WSSW will host free, virtual programming and events every Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon throughout the month of July.

GIRLS RISING: BUILDING A PIPELINE OF WOMEN LEADERS 

In its third year, this critical event will highlight what our community is doing to create a pipeline of young women into non-traditional careers. We will profile and award scholarships to some change-making, dynamic female students entering both non-traditional fields and non-traditional roles for women in the fields of technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, construction management, and trades.

HOW TO OBTAIN CREDIT 

Understanding financials is key for the owners of an enterprise - they need to be the first to know if their business is growing or folding. Unfortunately, not all entrepreneurs are financially literate.

In this workshop, business owners will learn the value of credit worthiness and how to maintain a good business credit score. They'll also discover the documents necessary to make a successful application for a business loan.

GOVERNOR'S MINORITY BUSINESS AWARDS

The Governor’s Minority Business Awards is an honor bestowed upon for-profit, minority-owned businesses who have contributed to the economic diversity and success of minority communities in Colorado. Businesses are awarded in four size categories (micro, small, medium and large) across four regions in Colorado (see map below). An additional award will be given to recognize a for-profit, non-minority-owned business that strongly supports the minority-owned business community in Colorado.
